An IOS 8 Preview – Grasp Support – July 14′

This coming Autumn, Apple release their new operating system for iPhones and iPads. Apple as you would expect are touting this new IOS as the “biggest IOS release ever”. So lets look into some of the features Apple has detailed for the upcoming release.

Apple say the benefits are in the subtleties such as the ability to add your voice into a text message, you can now see, edit and organise every photo you take, you can even convey fitness and health stats collected by Apple apps directly to your GP. There is a family sharing facility whereby family members can share iTunes, iBooks and App Store purchases to upwards of six pre selected family members freely.

The new feature that seems to be gaining a lot of attention is the iCloud Drive application. Jumping on board the cloud based application revolution using iCloud Drive a user is able to work directly on iCloud in real time to work on PDF’s, presentations and a host of other common file types. In the same vein of focus on versatile working solutions Apple will also introduce ‘HandOff’. We previously mentioned this feature in our guide to the new OSX “Yosemite” due for release later this year. IOS8 and Yosemite will work in harmony so users are able to begin a document on one device (say a MacBook) and using a seamless Bluetooth transfer immediately continue working on the document on another device (such as an iPhone).
