Happy Windows has released a new operating system and hopefully it won’t be a complete train wreck … day! Yes the long anticipated (at least amongst us nerds) release of Windows 10 is upon us to hopefully sweep aside the inter-facial awkwardness of the Windows 8 releases that we all loved to hate.

The truth of the matter is that Windows 8 was a really, really good operating system in a lot of ways. Yes I said it. It was a more streamlined, less bulky and quicker OS than its predecessors. In raw performance sense, it actually was a nippy OS and it breathed new performance into older hardware moderately well. This was often overlooked. However how MS Windows 8 passed the beta testing phase without someone going “hold on, how the dickens do I get out of this blessed full screen mode”? and things like “Oh ‘strewth it appears my desktop has turned into some kind of list of about a thousand buttons for launching applications”.

So Windows 10. Its free upgrade, for the first year, the good old fashioned start menu is back, Microsoft Edge takes over internet explorer, its lightweight and can run on the most pitiful of systems, you can stream xbox games to a nearby Windows 10 PC, Cortana will be your PC version of Siri and it looks rather good.

As always perhaps our existing customers should let us test the full version of MS10 before upgrading themselves. Yes you have the little annoying icon telling you Windows 10 is ready but for goodness sake, DON’T PUSH THE BUTTON. Grasp will be submitting our impressions of Windows 10 so keep posted!

If you want advice on upgrading your OS to Windows 10, please give Grasp a call on the contacts page of this website. Or visit us at:
