iPhone 6 – Faster, Bigger, Better  – September 9th Release

Grasp Support is keeping a keen eye out for next Tuesday 9th Septembers eagerly anticipated announcement of the iPhone 6. Whilst it is never certain exactly what Apple has in store for its new iPhone products until after the official reveal there are many features that the “insider” crowd seem unanimously agreed upon.

We invite everyone to stay tunes to Grasp’s Facebook page on the 9th for regular updates on the iPhone 6.

Key features of the iPhone

Firstly it will be a bigger phone. The evidence is mounting that the new iPhone 6 will come in a 4.7″ and a 5.5″ size form factor up from the existing 3.5″. It is expected the 4.7″ iPhone 6 will make its début slightly ahead of the 5.5″ model but information on exact release dates are scarce. The iPhone 6 will be considerably thinner than the current iPhone 5s, which is 7.6 mm. The final version of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 is said to be 6.9 mm thick, 138 mm long, and 66 mm wide. The 5.5-inch iPhone 6 is said to be 7.1 mm thick, 158 mm long, and 78 mm wide.

Another important early discovery was that Apple had procured a massive stock pile of sapphire screens which stood to reason was intended for the iPhone 6 as and when it was to be released. The sapphire screens are intended to be a significantly more robust and tough material at the tough end of the Moh scale that puts up with the everyday scratches and bumps significantly better. Indeed various online demonstrations of people dragging keys and knives across sapphire screens with no damaging effects shows sapphires potential for the iPhones.

The list of rumoured features is too numerous to go into full details. Mobile payment platforms to usurp card payments, wireless phone charging, significantly higher wireless receiver rates and who knows a torch to point in the sky and issue the bat call.

We suggest you all stay tunes to Grasp Support Facebook and Twitter sites on Tuesday 9th September for live feeds on the iPhone 6 announcement!
